M issue

Dad & Mum: Nik! Are you eating enough or not? Got enough money there?

Me: Yea, still alive, it's enough just can't go travelling

Dad & Mum : Oh, must eat more. Can't save on food!

Me : Yes Yes i know.

funny how my parents keep asking me if i have enough money but they don't offer to give when i drop hints that it's insufficient. why bother asking then -.-

No mum, don't start getting worried that I don't have enough money but additional is always welcomed (: HAHA

Snowy Finland

I think i'm getting more simple minded by the day.

Everyday when I wake up, the first thing I thank God for is the bright sun I see outside my window.

Everyday when I switch on my computer, I rejoice when I see it's a warmer day

Everytime I step out of my apartment, I'm grateful for no wind chills

Everytime I walk to school, I feel happy when I manage to spot some leaves on the pine trees

I get excited over snowflakes that sticks to my window panes

I go crazy when I see a semi frozen lake

Enjoy my walking on frozen lake adventure with my cool commentary (:

Blissful Bremen

Bremen is a nice town. I really wonder if other cities in Germany are as friendly as Bremen. The locals here gives me a very warm gesture every time I try to take a photo of the simplest things. I could recall sitting down at the bakery and wanting to take a photo of my butterkuchen but everyone stared and smiled at me. They even mumbled something in German and even offered to take a photo.

I won't say they don't speak English but I guess they are shy to speak because they are not so good at it. It's also my first time staying in a hostel which kinda makes me want to open a hostel or pursue my farming dream xD

It was also encouraging to meet fellow male teachers from th
e US and Germany. Met both of them at the Beck's brewery and they were actually on a teacher exchange programme. haha! We had a great time exchanging educational views and Singapore has still so much to learn.

Now, time to hit the books, exam is next week and I still feel no stress :D

Ps: Mind the retarded Asians in Germany (:

Only after a day we found out this was the real statue :p

Weekend getaway

Most of my friends here are often baffled about my background. Yes, I speak English at home and I can barely carry out a fluent 10 minute conversation in Mandarin, Cantonese or Hokkien. Oh yes, I am trying very hard to improve my mandarin as well as Cantonese and Hokkien but often it goes back to square one.

Next week will be a hectic one for me. Hectic travelling wise not work wise. haha! Will be heading to Helsinki for a little CNY makan then Kaunas and Germany. I need to travel less and remind myself about the whole purpose of coming to Europe.*ponders* Ah, yes to try to visit all my friends while i'm here which also means visiting many many countries :D So dad & mum i'm not travelling,i'm paying my friends a visit! *hint hint cough cough*

And yes, I really miss my legendary friends in Singapore and Malaysia :(

Pretty snowflakes taken with my crappy handphone camera

Amsterdam Aftermath

Bak kata pepatah, "Jauh perjalanan luas pengalaman"
Translation "Vast journey, plentiful experience" :- quite a direct translation but yeah!

I used to think that this Malay proverb was crap until I had this opportunity to see the world. Somehow until today I still can't believe i'm typing this post all the way in Europe. I should try to finish up my assignments quicker and study faster so I can maximize my time here. haha!

My housemates said these today," Wow, we have a full house today"

I guess that indicates something. Lalalaaaaaaa

Venice of Holland, Giethoorn
Pronounced as (kheetoon)

space cake, red light district, pancakes, windmills, canals. ah, I wish I was in Holland just for another day

Travel Tales

You won't believe how lucky i am every time i go on a travel trip in Europe.

Yesterday, as I was about to head off from my room to catch the bus to Helsinki, something disastrous happened. My bag zip gave way as I was just about to wrap up my luggage. Thankfully my friend was awake and offered to borrow his bag pack to me for a week.

Hence Lesson 1,
Get a good bag for travelling. Also if possible try not to be kiasu and squeeze everything into the bag. Haha yes, I tried to test the limits of the bag and it gave way at a very bad timing!

Also, don't switch off your handphones during flights. This was because I obediently followed the instructions and now i'm left without a phone. In Finland, all sim cards has a pin code and I left the 4 digit number in my room. -.-

Thankfully again,my friends managed to find me at the airport and now i'm safe at home (for the next 6 days) yipee! (;

Ps;Pictures will be uploaded later!
